IPL 2021: Rituraj Gaikwad single-handedly 'misleads' Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai Indians' number one bowler

The first match of the second leg of IPL 2021 played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will be known for beating opener Rituraj Gaikwad apart from fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.  Such occasions rarely come on the cricket field, when a batsman is seen dominating against Bumrah, but what was seen in this match was always different.  At one time after losing four big wickets at the score of 24 runs, the struggling Chennai was handled by Rituraj alone.  He took one end and played an unbeaten innings of 88 runs off 58 balls with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes.  During this, in the last over, Rituraj hit some great sixes while beating Bumrah fiercely.

In the match, Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first, but his start was poor.  After losing the opening wicket early, Gaikwad took the team out of trouble with Ravindra Jadeja with a brilliant 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket.  He then added 39 runs for the sixth wicket with Dwayne Bravo.  Rituraj completed his fourth consecutive fifty in IPL.  Chennai scored 69 runs in the last four overs to take their score past 150.

During Chennai's innings, Bumrah came to bowl the 14th over after the first spell, where he conceded just 7 runs in front of batsmen like Jadeja and Gaekwad.  After this, Mumbai captain Pollard gave him the 17th over of the innings, where Rituraj hit a lucrative six against him.  However, Bumrah did not spend much runs in this over.  After this, Chennai came to the last over of the innings, where Rituraj hit him for a four and then a six and took the team's score beyond 150.  15 runs were scored in this over of Bumrah.
